AOS Beginner Guide

Everything you wanted to know about Jiu-Jitsu, but were too shy to ask.

So, the very first thing you need to know when you start BJJ, is to tie your belt! There are several ways to do it. Never feel shy or scared to ask for help from any of your peers or even the coach in the gym.

But here's an idea on how to tie your belt!

Before getting into your first lesson in BJJ, there might be so many things going on at once, and you do not understand what is happening. Perhaps this video can give you an idea on what is BJJ and why is it such an effective martial art.

We highly recommend new beginners to join our BJJ Fundamentals Course. Here's why:

Once you get a gist of what BJJ is, you must also know what is acceptable and not acceptable in the gym. There are some moves that are absolutely NOT allowed during sparring. Safety is always no. 1 when training.

Besides moves that are banned in sparring, there are some things to be aware of before you start rolling.

Once you're comfortable rolling in a gym setting, you might want to put your skills to the test. What better way to test yourself that at a competition? Here, we demonstrate the IBJJF scoring system.

There are plenty more about BJJ, so stay tuned for more!
