Are My Children Too Young for BJJ?

Updated: May 8, 2023

Most adult practitioners wished their parents sent them to BJJ when they were young...

In AOS Studio, our BJJ classes for kids are separated into two age classes, for ages 4-7 years old and 8-12 years old.

BJJ classes for kids are a bit different from the adult classes, as they are typically adapted towards making the sport fun and engaging.

  • Classes for kids ages 4-7 years old would include fun games and creative activities centered around BJJ.

  • Classes for kids ages 8-12 years old would include more technique while keeping the class fun.

Our BJJ Kids classes will be on...

Monday to Friday

BJJ Kids (ages 4-7): 4:45pm

BJJ Kids (ages 8-12): 5:30pm

Saturday

BJJ Kids (ages 4-7): 9:15am

BJJ Kids (ages 8-12): 10:00am

Sunday

BJJ Kids (ages 4-7): 2:15pm

BJJ Kids (ages 8-12): 3:00pm

So, when is the best time to start learning BJJ?

The younger you are, the easier it is for you to absorb new teachings. Hence, kids as young as 4 years old are at their best time to learn BJJ.

Older kids need not worry, we have classes for you too. We recommend people ages 13 and above to join the adult BJJ classes. It's ok, you can still feel young in BJJ.

Honestly, the best time to start learning is NOW! Follow our Instagram for BJJ Kids to learn more about how BJJ is beneficial to kids @aosstudiokids.
